Would you agree that one of the biggest issue for SMEs is lack of time?   

For example as a Pie Maker you not only have to buy the ingredients for the cake, make the cake, find somewhere to sell the cakes, you also have to sell the cakes too.  After that you need to log the figures for your accountant and keep in touch with your clients so they buy more cake.  You also have to attract new clients to buy your cakes.  Perhaps you have to recuit people to help you and then you have to manage.  You also have to work out how you are going to grow the business and implement strategies to that effect.

 

Whew ... exhausting isn't it

 

Invariably you end up baking lots of pies because that's what you're good at but you end up with a lack of people to sell them to because you haven't been actively getting clients or working on your business.

Do it yourself mentality - false economy

It's a full time job yet SME's think they can do it themselves usually with the false impression that it will save them money - obviously you and I both know that this is a false economy as they could be earning more money if they handed that task over to someone else.  More money in terms of more leads, more sales, and more ongoing clients.
